Frequently asked questions
What does my browser expose to websites?
Your browser exposes data in two ways. First, it automatically sends your IP address and HTTP headers (User-Agent, Accept-Language, Sec-CH-UA) with every request. Second, any page script can silently read your GPU model, screen resolution, timezone, canvas fingerprint, CPU threads, installed fonts, and more — without asking permission.
What is a browser fingerprint?
A browser fingerprint is a unique identifier built from browser and hardware signals — canvas rendering, GPU info, screen size, fonts, timezone, and more. Websites use it to track users even without cookies.
Can websites see my location?
Your IP address reveals an approximate city-level location to any website you visit. Precise GPS location requires explicit browser permission.
Does this tool store my data?
No. BrowserSignals runs entirely in your browser. A single request is made to our server solely to show what HTTP headers and IP address it receives — nothing is logged or stored.
